What a start for the Clear Creek Amana track team.

In their first full-team meet in nearly two seasons Clear Creek Amana won eight events and cruised to the team title at the Waverly-Shell Rock Invitational on Thursday in Waverly.

Four Clippers combined to win five individual titles and Clear Creek Amana finished first and second in three events while racking up 156.5 team points to finish 60 points in front of host Waverly-Shell Rock.

Dike-New Hartford was third with 94 points and Charles City was fourth with 70 at the eight-team meet.

Brandon Barker swept the distance events winning the 1,600 in 4:50.48 and adding a title in the 3,200 in 10:08.27.

Alex Figueroa won the 100 in 11.59, Tom Johnson won the 80 in 2:04.12 and Harrison Rosenberg won the 110 hurdles in a time of 15.57.

The Clippers added relay wins in the shuttle hurdle, 4×100 and 4×800.

Clear Creek Amana got individual runner-up efforts from Gavin Zillyette in the 800 (2:05.01), Ben Swails in the 110 hurdles (16.56) and Peyton Stadler in the 3,200 (10:58.04).

The Clipper foursome of Zillyette, Johnson, Cash Jensen and Cameron Kimm won the 4×800 in 8:32.29 and Rosenberg, Swails, Andrew Schlemme and Zaid Rachman won the shuttle hurdle relay in 1:05.67.

Figueroa, Rosenberg and Swails teamed with Gage Freeman to win the 4×100 in 44.43.
