The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Skyler Stookey
Solon graduate Skyler Stookey had five hits and drove in three runs in four games over the weekend helping the Kohawks go 3-1 in a pair of doubles headers against St. Catherine University and Luther College.
A sophomore catcher, Stookey is batting .400 with four doubles and five RBI and leads the team with 12 hits helping Coe to a 5-3 record.
Sydney Schroder
City High graduate Sydney Schroder, a senior at Coe College, earned all-conference honors for the first time in her career last week when she was named an honorable mention all-American Rivers Conference pick.
A 5-foot-9 guard, Schroder started all 13 games this season leading the Kohawks with 5.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game to go with 5.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest.
Schroder is also a three-time all-conference performer on the Coe College soccer team.
Spencer Wiskus
West High graduate Spencer Wiskus continued a strong season at Mount Mercy with six hits in a four-game series at Peru State over the weekend.
A senior catcher for the Mustangs, Wiskus is hitting a team-high .452 and leads the Mustangs in hits (28), doubles (7), home runs (3), RBI (22) and slugging percentage (.710) while helping Mount Mercy to a 14-7 record.
