The Your Prep Sports Alumni Report is a weekly segment that recognizes the accomplishments of graduates from YPS area schools that are continuing their careers as student athletes at the collegiate level. Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Masen Miller
Regina graduate Masen Miller, a freshman at Truman State University, earned a pair of impressive honors following a stellar start to his collegiate career.
Miller was named Great Lakes Valley Conference freshman of the year and was also named to the GLVC all-defensive team following a strong debut season in which he started 18 games and ranked second on the team in minutes played with over 33 per game.,
The 6-foot-2 Miller averaged 11 points per game while shooting 41 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the free throw line helping the Bulldogs to an 18-2 record and number three ranking in the NABC Division II poll.
Sarah Lehman
Regina graduate Sarah Lehman tossed a complete game four-hitter to lift Iowa to a 4-1 win over Michigan State last Sunday in a Big Ten conference softball contest in Leesburg, Florida.
A senior right-hander for the Hawkeyes, Lehman struck out seven and walked one in the win over the Spartans improving her season record to 1-1.
Lehman owns a 2.77 ERA in two starts this season and has struck out a team-high 12 while allowing eight hits and just one walk in 13 innings.
Maddie Fay
West High graduate Maddie Fay, a senior setter at South Dakota State, had a team-high 17 assists for the Jackrabbits in a three-set loss to Omaha on Friday.
Fay also had a block, a kill and three digs in the match.
On the season Fay ranks second on the team with 76 assists and is averaging 6.9 assists per set.
