Sasha Koenig will be remembered as one of the best to ever play at West Branch.

The senior will point guard will now also go down as a two-time first-team all-state pick.

Koenig was named to the Class 2A all-state first team selected by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association for the second consecutive season on Monday when the IGCA released its 2020-2021 all-state honors.

Among the top point guards in the state, Koenig led West Branch in scoring each of the past three seasons and finished her career with more than 1,400 career points and better than 400 assists.

Koenig averaged a career-high 20.2 points per game as a senior, ranking seventh in Class 2A in scoring, while directing the Bears to the first back-to-back state tournament appearances in program history.

A Bradley recruit, Koenig was one of only two players in the state to average 20 points and more than 5 assists per game.

Koenig ranked fifth in Class 2A with 5.5 assists per game and added 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game while leading West Branch to a 21-2 record.

In a pair of state tournament games Koenig averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and two steals while helping the Bears to the first state tournament win in program history.
