West Branch Senior Koenig Selected to Class 2A All-Tournament Team

It was a week filled with firsts for West Branch at the state tournament.
West Branch won its first ever state tournament game on Wednesday in its first back-to-back trip to state to reach the 2A semifinals for the first time.
On Saturday the Bears added one final state-tournament first.
Senior Sasha Koenig was named to the 2A all-tournament team becoming the first West Branch player to earn all-tournament team honors.
Koenig averaged 13.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2 steals per game while helping West Branch reach the semifinals.
The senior point guard had 16 points, 7 rebounds, six assists and two steals in a 49-33 quarterfinal win over Grundy Center.
Koenig closed her career with 11 points and seven assists in a semifinal loss to 2A champion Dike-New Hartford.
The 13 assists for Koenig tied for second among players at the 2A state tournament and her 6.5 assists per game tied for the most among 2A participants.
