Solon enjoyed a breakthrough season that featured 17 wins, a top-15 ranking in Class 3A, a conference title and a spot in the regional championship game.
Now the Spartans are beginning to reap the postseason rewards for their turnaround season.
Solon had six players earn all-conference recognition when the WAMAC Conference announced its postseason honors on Wednesday.
Freshman point guard Callie Levin was named WAMAC East Division player of the year and was a unanimous first-team pick joining junior guard Kaia Holtkamp on the East Division first team.
Juniors Makinley Levin and Elly Holubar were each second-team all-East Division selections while sophomore Hilary Wilson and junior Ava Stebral earned honorable mention honors.
The six all-conference honorees were two more than the Spartans had last season and comes after the Spartans had just two players honored following a three-win seasons two years ago.
It hasn’t taken long for Callie Levin to establish herself as one of the top players in the conference.
The 5-foot-9 freshman point guard led all WAMAC players in scoring and assists this season at 19 points and 3.7 assists per game and ranked second among all WAMAC players with 4 steals per game.
Levin also ranked second on the team with 5 rebounds per game.
Holtkamp earned first-team all-East Division honors for the second consecutive season after averaging 8.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Makinley Levin was a second-team pick for the second straight season after averaging 9.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Holubar was also a second-team selection in the East Division after the 5-foot-7 junior forward led the East Division and ranked second among all WAMAC players with 9.4 rebounds per game to go with 4.4 points.
Wilson averaged 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game and Stebral averaged 4 points off the bench for the Solon which tied Marion for the WAMAC East Division title at 8-2 and matched Clear Creek Amana for the best overall conference record at 14-3.
