City High Places Sixth in First Ever Appearance at State Bowling Championships

City High had a strong showing in its first ever appearance at the state bowling championship.
The Little Hawks finished sixth at the Class 3A state tournament on Tuesday at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo posting a score of 2,649.
Ottumwa won the team title with a score of 3,076 followed by Cedar Rapids Jefferson with 3,022.
City High trailed Mississippi Valley Conference teams Cedar Falls (2,874), Dubuque Senior (2,867) and Dubuque Hempstead (2,774) in its sixth-place performance and was one spot ahead of seventh-place Waukee.
Savannah Edmonds of Cedar Rapids Jefferson rolled a 246 in the second game to post a two-game score of 471 on her way to the individual title.
Zoe Seamans of Ottumwa was runner-up with a 455.
Britney Russell led City High with a 22nd place finish with 374 pins while Kenda Schwarting was 27th with 362 and Elyse Rios was right behind in 28th with a 358.
