Girls Basketball Roundup: West High Downs Davenport Central to Advance to Regional Final

Sixth-ranked West High used a strong second quarter to erase an early two-point deficit on its way to a 53-43 win over Davenport Central on Saturday in a Class 5A, Region 6 semifinal in Iowa City.
West High outscored Davenport Central 14-3 in the second quarter while building a 27-18 halftime lead while advancing to the Region 6 title game.
The Trojans will host No. 13 Davenport North (11-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Davenport North advanced with a 59-53 win over Bettendorf in a semifinal on Saturday.
Audrey Koch had 13 points and Emma Ingersoll-Weng added 11 as West High improved to 12-3 on the season with its 10th consecutive win.
Matayia Tellis had nine points and Liv Williams and Meena Tate each had seven.
Bria Clark led Davenport Central with 13 points while Sydney George had 12 and Acorianna Lard had nine.
