Boys Basketball Roundup: Potter’s Late Shot Lifts Clear Creek Amana Past Benton Community

Clear Creek Amana put the finishing touches on a second consecutive WAMAC West Division title on Tuesday with a 76-74 win over Benton Community in its regular season finale in Van Horne.
The win was the third straight for Clear Creek Amana and improved the Clippers to 17-5 on the season and 16-2 in WAMAC play which includes a perfect 12-0 record against West Division competition.
Benton Community dropped to 1-19 on the season and 1-16 in conference action with the loss.
Clear Creek Amana overcame a two-point halftime deficit with a 27-point third quarter and used a late shot from Mike Potter to escape with a win.
Potter scored the go-ahead basket with 27 seconds left and Benton Community missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer as Clear Creek Amana held on.
Christian Withrow had a game-high 25 points to pace Clear Creek Amana while Ryan Navara had 21 points and four rebounds.
Ben Swails had 11 points and Potter finished with five points, seven rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot.
Aiden Harris led Benton Community wit 21 points while Kyler Mahan had 19 points and 9 rebounds for the Bobcats which hit 11 3-pointers in the loss.
