Alumni News is a way for readers to keep tabs on former area standouts as well as honoring those athletes that continue to excel at the next level.
Masen Miller
Regina graduate Masen Miller had 10 points to help Truman State to a 74-68 win over Quincy on Saturday.
A 6-foot-2 freshman guard Miller has started all 14 games for the Bulldogs this season averaging 10.5 points in better than 31 minutes per game and is shooting 39 percent from 3-point range while helping Truman State to a 14-1 record.
Colby Greene
West High graduate Colby Greene had 12 kills and 15 kills to help Southeast Missouri to a pair of 3-1 wins over Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.
A junior rightside hitter for the Redhawks, Greene had 12 kills and three blocks in the first match on Sunday and then had 15 kills and three blocks in the nightcap of an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader.
The 6-foot-2 Greene ranks second on the team with 49 kills through four matches this season.
Shelby Gunnells
Solon graduate and current North Dakota State senior Shelby Gunnells registered a career-best performance in the shot put on Saturday finishing runner-up at the Iowa State Classic with a mark of 57-11 ¼.
The throw moved Gunnells into the top 25 in the world this year.
