Boys Basketball Roundup: Moe, Barnes Help West High Rally Past Liberty High

West High roared back from a 19-point first quarter deficit to defeat Class 4A ninth-ranked Liberty High 78-69 on Saturday afternoon in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup in North Liberty.
Pete Moe had a game-high 27 points and Christian Barnes added 21 as West High improved to 4-6 on the season and 2-4 in MVC play.
Grahm Goering had 15 points and Mikey Brown added seven for West High which moved to 5-0 all time against Liberty High.
Basil Aldoss led four Liberty High players in double figures with 17 points as the Lightning dropped to 5-3 on the season with its second loss in two days and third in a row.
Kelby Telander had 16 points, Ethan O’Donnell had 13 and Ira Hazeltine finished with 11 points for the Lightning.
