Girls Basketball Roundup: Joens, Richardson Lead City High Past Linn-Mar

The return to action for City High was a successful one.
Playing for the first time since January 23 Class 5A No. 12 City High downed Linn-Mar 55-47 on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division matchup in Marion.
City High snapped a two-game losing skid with the win and improved to 8-4 on the season and 6-2 in MVC play.
Linn-Mar dropped to 9-8 and 7-7 in conference play with the loss.
Kelsey Joens poured in a game-high 26 points to pace City High while Eviyon Richardson added 19 points.
Ella Cook had eight points for the Little Hawks.
Zoe Kennedy led Linn-Mar with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Hallie Peak had 11 points for the Lions.
