Girls Basketball Roundup: Koch Pours in 32 Points to Lead West High Past CR Jefferson

West High has picked up right where it left off following a two-week layoff posting back-to-back wins.
It appears the Trojans’ senior leader hasn’t skipped a beat either.
Audrey Koch poured in a season-high 32 points as Class 5A sixth-ranked West High stretched its winning streak to seven in a row with a 69-45 win over Cedar Rapids Jefferson in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division game in Iowa City.
The win was the second straight for West High following a two-week layoff and comes after the Trojans handled Fort Madison in its return to action on Saturday.
West High improved to 9-3 with the win while Cedar Rapids Jefferson dropped to 1-13 with its 11th consecutive loss.
Lucy Wolfe had nine points, Mataya Tellis had eight and Menna Tate added seven for West High.
Emma Slings led Cedar Rapids Jefferson with 12 points while Jariah Harris had 11 and Kalyn Wise had 10.
