Clear Creek Amana senior standout Christian Withrow hit a big-time career achievement on Tuesday.

Unfortunately for Withrow and the Clippers it wasn’t accompanied by a win.

Withrow became just the fourth player in program history to score 1,000 career points, pouring in a team-high 19 but it wasn’t enough as Class 3A eighth-ranked Western Dubuque pulled away for a 68-52 win over the Clippers in a non-conference contest in Epworth.

The 19 points for Withrow gave him 1,010 for his career and led four Clippers with at least eight points on Tuesday.

Brock Reade had 11 points, Kyle Schrepfer had eight points and Ryan Navara had eight points and nine rebounds.

Clear Creek Amana dropped to 14-5 on the season while Western Dubuque improved to 13-3.

Dylan Johnson had a double-double with a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead Western Dubuque.
