Girls Basketball Roundup: West Branch Holds Off Tipton for 12th Consecutive Win

Class 2A third-ranked West Branch jumped to an 11-point first quarter lead and held on for a 44-36 win over Tipton in a River Valley Conference South Division matchup in Tipton on Monday.
West Branch improved to 15-1 on the season and in RVC play with its 12th straight win while Tipton dropped to 5-13 and 3-12 in conference play.
Delaynie Luneckas had a game-high 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead West Branch.
Sasha Koenig had 16 points, five assists, four steals and four rebounds and Taya Young had six points, four rebounds and three steals for the Bears.
Madison Hovancik added four points for West Branch.
Rachel Bierman had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead Tipton while Allison Nash had 11 points for the Tigers.
