West Branch qualified two wrestlers for the district meet on Saturday at the Class 1A, Sectional 15 meet in Lisbon.

Freshman Cale Seydel and senior Morgan Hartz each qualified for the 1A, District 8 meet next week with runner-up sectional finishes on Saturday in Lisbon.

West Branch finished sixth in the team standings at the seven-team sectional with 78 points while second-ranked Lisbon crowned nine champions and won the team title with 273.5 points.

Hartz (19-9) pinned Bellevue Jack Hiland in 1:17 in the 195-pound semifinals before falling to sixth-ranked Lisbon senior Truman Krob 5-3 in the title match.

Seydel (10-10) added a runner-up finish at 132 pounds, pinning Peyton Clark of North Cedar in 3:20 in the semifinals before falling to sixth-ranked Quincy Happel of Lisbon via first-period fall in the title match.

Hartz and Seydel will compete in the 1A, District 8 meet next Saturday at Wapello that begins at Noon.
