Girls Basketball Roundup: West Branch Locks Up RVC South Title With Win Over Durant

For the second consecutive season West Branch is the River Valley Conference South Division champion.
The Bears locked up its second straight South Division crown on Saturday with a 60-17 win over Durant in West Branch.
Class 2A third-ranked West Branch ran its winning streak to 11 in a row and improved to 14-1 on the season and in RVC play with the win while Durant dropped to 3-17 and 3-16 in RVC play.
Sasha Koenig had a game-high 21 points to lead three West Branch players in double figures and

Delaynie Luneckas had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds and added three steals and a pair of blocked shots.
Rylan Druecker had 11 points, four rebounds and four assists and Lexie Peak had eight points and four rebounds.
Taya Young had five points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists.
West Branch shot 49 percent from the field in the win and was 6-of-11 from 3-point range while holding Durant to single digit scoring in all four quarters.
The Bears led 44-13 at the half and limited the Wildcats to just two points in each of the final two quarters.
West Branch closes the regular season next week with a pair of RVC rivalry games traveling to Tipton on Monday and hosting Regina on Tuesday.
