Girls Basketball Roundup: Late Rally Comes up Short as Solon Falls to Dyersville Beckman

A furious fourth-quarter rally came up just short for Class 3A Solon as the Spartans fell to Dyersville Beckman 58-52 in a WAMAC East Division matchup in Solon.
Trailing by 11 with a minute left Solon got as close as three with 15.6 left but couldn’t pull even.
Solon had a three-game winning streak snapped with the loss and dropped to 13-5 on the season and 12-3 in WAMAC play while Dyersville Beckman improved to 7-10 and 6-8 in conference play.
Callie Levin had 16 points to lead three Solon players in double figures as Kaia Holtkamp added 15 points and Makinley Levin had 12.
Kennedy Arens had a game-high 24 for Beckman while Lauren Osterhaus and Lil McDermott each had nine.
