Boys Basketball Roundup: Fifth-ranked West Branch Rolls Past Wilton

Games on back-to-back days following a nearly three-week layoff did nothing to slow down Class 2A fifth-ranked and unbeaten West Branch.
West Branch scored 27 points in the first quarter and raced to a 77-56 win over Wilton on Friday in a River Valley Conference contest in West Branch.
The Bears improved to 11-0 on the season with its second win in as many days after posting a 56-37 win at Tipton in its first game back on Thursday.
Gavin Hierseman went 5-of-6 from 3-point range and finished with a game-high 23 points to go with three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Simon Palmer had 11 points, eight rebounds and seven assists while Holden Arnaman had 10 points, five assists and two steals.
Thomas Gould added eight points, four rebounds and three assists as the Bears had 23 assists on 29 made field goals while shooting 53 percent from the floor.
