During their one season as teammates at West High Trey King and Damarion Williams helped turn the Trojans into one of the most explosive offenses in the state.
It turns out Williams and King aren’t done being teammates just yet.
Williams announced his commitment to Iowa Western Community College on Friday with a post on social media joining King who committed to the Reivers early this month.
“Excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and football career at Iowa Western Community College,” Williams wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to my family for supporting me along the way. Thank you to all my coaches and teammates. Onto the next chapter.”
In his only season at West High Williams established himself as one of the top pass catchers in Class 4A.
Williams caught 22 passes for 355 yards and four touchdowns in seven games this fall, ranking second on the team in all three categories.
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Williams had at least three receptions in every game but one this season catching a career-high five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown in a win over City High.
Williams also rushed for a 14-yard touchdown and made 16.5 tackles including 12 solo stops as a defensive back and returned his only interception of the season 40 yards for a touchdown.
King, who led the Trojans in rushing last season, announced his plan to continue his career at Iowa Western with a social media post on January 14.
Iowa Western was 9-3 in 2019 and finished the season ranked fourth in the nation.
The Reivers are 30-5 over the past three seasons combined and have ended the season ranked in the top four seven of the last eight seasons.
