Liberty High had its five-game winning streak to open the season stopped with an 87-63 loss to top-ranked Cedar Falls on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division top-five matchup in Cedar Falls.
Class 4A No. 1 Cedar Falls broke open a six-point game at the half with 50 points in the second half while improving to 10-0 on the season.
Fifth-ranked Liberty High dropped to 5-1 with the loss.
Ira Hazeltine led Liberty High with 18 points and two assists while Kelby Telander added 12 points and five rebounds.
Ethan O’Donnell had eight points, five rebounds and two assists and Basil Aldoss had seven points.
Trey Campbell led three Cedar Falls players in double figures with a game-high 26 points while Landon Wolf added 18 and Chase Courbat had 16 for the Tigers.
