West High crowned three champions on its way to a third-place team finish in a field that featured three of the top six ranked teams in Class 3A on Saturday at the Rick Caldwell Invitational in Waverly.

Top-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock had five champions and won the team title with 202 points while fourth-ranked Fort Dodge had four champions and was second with 130.5 points.

West High got titles from Grant O’Dell at 126, Hunter Garvin at 138 and Ashton Barker at 170 pounds while placing third with 99.5 points.

Ninth-ranked O’Dell won the title at 126 going 4-0 with three pins and a 3-1 decision over third-ranked Carter Fecht of Waverly-Shell Rock in sudden victory.

Top-ranked Garvin went 4-0 with three pins and a tech fall on his way to the title at 138 while Barker was 4-0 with four pins while winning the 170-pound title.

Brett Pelfrey was runner-up at 220 pounds while Thomas Pierce (113), Braden Doyle (106), Kael Scranton (132), Graham Gambrall (152) and Errol Alden (285) all finished third.
