Girls Basketball Roundup: West High Overwhelms 4A No. 15 Marion in Second Half

West High capped a strong week with its second win over a ranked opponent in as many days with a 60-26 win over Class 4A No. 15 Marion in a non-conference contest in Iowa City.
Class 5A sixth-ranked West High broke open a three-point game at the half with a 27-point third quarter and outscored the Indians 42-11 in the second half.
The win was the fifth straight for West High and improved the Trojans to 7-3 on the season while Marion had a seven-game winning streak snapped with the loss and dropped to 9-5.
Emma Ingersoll-Weng had a game-high 18 points to lead three West High players in double figures.
Jenna Saunders had 15 points and Audrey Koch added 14 for the Trojans.
Ella Van Weelden had 10 points and Sadie Struchen had six for Marion.
