Liberty High remained unbeaten with a 48-40 win over Cedar Rapids Xavier in a Mississippi Valley Conference cross-divisional matchup on Saturday in North Liberty.

Class 4A sixth-ranked Liberty High improved to 5-0 with the win while Xavier dropped to 6-7 on the season.

Ira Hazeltine and Kelby Telander each had 11 points to pace Liberty High while Basil Aldoss and Ethan O’Donnell both added seven points for the Lightning.

Aiden McDermott had 11 points and Max Kaiser had 10 for the Saints.
