Liberty High fell to Cedar Rapids Kennedy 51-38 on Thursday in a Mississippi Valley Conference meeting in North Liberty.

The Lightning dropped to 2-6 with the loss while Cedar Rapids Kennedy improved to 7-6.

Ava Meyer had 11 points and six rebounds to lead Liberty High while Keiko Ono-Fullard had nine points, three assists and two steals for the Lightning.

Haley Schroder had seven points and Sunny Yarnell had seven points and five rebounds for Liberty High.

Kaliyah Sain had a game-high 20 points to lead Kennedy.
