Boys Basketball Roundup: Liberty High Rallies Past Prairie in Return

Liberty High re-started its season on Friday almost exactly the same way it started the season more than a month ago – with a come-from-behind win over Cedar Rapids Prairie.
In its first action game action since January 5 Class 4A sixth-ranked Liberty High rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to down Cedar Rapids Prairie 64-63 in overtime in a Mississippi Valley Conference clash in Cedar Rapids.
Liberty High improved to 4-0 and completed the season sweep of the Hawks on Friday after rallying from a six-point halftime deficit to down Prairie 68-62 in its season opener on December 18.
Kelby Telander led three Liberty High players in double figures with 17 points while Basil Aldoss had 13 for the Lightning.
Grayson Tyler scored all 10 of his points after halftime while Ethan O’Donnell and Ira Hazeltine each added seven.
Jake Walter had a game-high 24 points, Elijah Ward had 16 and Jackson Nove eight for Prairie which dropped to 3-6 with the loss.
