Girls Basketball Roundup: Levin Leads Solon Past Mount Vernon

Callie Levin poured in a game-high 22 points to lift Class 3A No. 12 Solon to a 53-37 win over Mount Vernon on Friday in a WAMAC East Division matchup in Mount Vernon.
The win was the second straight for Solon following a road loss to ninth-ranked Cedar Rapids Xavier on Monday.
Solon improved to 10-3 with the win while Mount Vernon dropped to 0-10.
The Spartans broke open a six-point game at the half with a 15-point third quarter while moving to 10-1 in WAMAC play.
Hilary Wilson had eight points while Elly Holubar and Makinley Levin each had seven and Kaia Holtkamp had six for Solon.
Liz Dougherty led Mount Vernon with nine points.
