Girls Basketball Roundup: Liberty High Holds Off Western Dubuque For First Win

There were some tense moments late but Liberty High is in the win column.
Liberty High built a 15-point halftime lead and held on for a 50-49 win over Western Dubuque on Tuesday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division contest in North Liberty.
The Lightning improved to 1-4 with the win while Western Dubuque dropped to 2-10.
Kennedy Daugherty and Ava Meyer both posted double-doubles to lead Liberty High.
Daugherty had a team-high 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to go with a pair of blocked shots and Meyer had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Keiko Ono-Fullard had 10 points and five assists for Liberty High while Haley Schroder added six points and three blocked shots.
