Kirk Brotherton won a pair of individual events and West High claimed a pair of relay titles on its way to winning the team title at the Linn-Mar Invitational on Saturday in Marion.

Brotherton won the 50 and 100 freestyle and West High took titles in the 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays while rolling up 504 team points.

West High finished 45 points in front of runner-up Pleasant Valley while host Linn-Mar was third with 388 and West Des Moines Dowling was fourth with 332.

Brotherton won the 50 freestyle in 21.8 and the 100 in 48.51 and was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay team.

West High also got an individual title from Holden Carter who won the 100 butterfly in 51.71 and had a trio of runner-up finishes.

Jordan Christensen was second in both the 100 breaststroke (1:00.56) and the 200 IM (2:02.82) and Luke Nichols was runner-up in the 50 freestyle in 22.09.

West High was second in the 400 freestyle relay to Pleasant Valley.
