Girls Basketball Roundup: West High Comes up Short at No. 3 Waterloo West

Class 5A third-ranked Waterloo West fended off a furious second-half rally from seventh-ranked West High and held on for a 67-63 win over the Trojans on Friday in a Mississippi Valley Conference Valley Division tilt in Waterloo.
West High erased a 10-point halftime deficit with a 24-point fourth quarter but came up a few buckets short of an upset while falling to 2-3 with its third consecutive loss.
Halli Poock had a game-high 24 points and Sahara Williams added 21 as Waterloo West moved to 6-1 with its fourth straight win.
Meena Tate led West High with 18 points while Audrey Koch added 16 and Jenna Saunders 12 for the Trojans.
Emma Ingersoll-Weng had 11 points for West High.
