West Branch and Solon each closed on 2020 on long winning streaks.

Thanks in part to their strong finishes both teams will enter 2021 as ranked teams.

West Branch and Solon both made their season debuts in the Associated Press boys basketball poll that was released on Monday.

Solon (6-1) won six straight games to close out the 2020 portion of its schedule and is tenth in the Class 3A poll.

West Branch (7-0) makes its season debut at No. 10 in the Class 2A poll after closing out December with a win over previously third-ranked Camanche.

Liberty High received six votes in the Class 4A poll.
