Solon Senior Conway Commits to Central College

Over the past four seasons Kiersten Conway led the Solon cross country program on a steady climb toward the top of Class 3A.
A four-time state qualifier Conway capped an impressive prep career by leading Solon to its best finish at the state meet in nearly a decade last fall.
On Tuesday Conway announced she isn’t done running yet.
Conway gave a verbal commitment to continue her career at Central College in Pella on Tuesday revealing her future plans with a post on social media.
“So unbelievably excited to announce my verbal commitment to Central College,” Conway wrote on Twitter. “I’ll be continuing my athletic, music and education career in Pella, Iowa. I couldn’t be more happy.”
During her four-year career Conway led Solon to the state meet each of the last three seasons while helping the Spartans climb from 11th place in 2018 to fifth at the 3A meet in October.
Conway finished in the top-40 in all four of her appearances at the state meet including three top-25 finishes.
She was 21st at the 3A state meet this season in a time of 19:58.8.
Conway had her best season as a senior, winning her first WAMAC conference title in a school-record time of 19:15.8 and added a tenth-place finish at the state qualifying meet.
Central College is an NCA Division III institution and a member of the American Rivers Conference.
