Girls Basketball Roundup: Koenig Scores 30 as West Branch Wins Third Straight

West Branch continued its winning streak on Saturday while senior guard Sasha Koenig kept a string of 30-point scoring performances going.
Koenig posted her second 30-point game in less than 24 hours, pouring in a game-high 30 to lead Class 2A fifth-ranked West Branch to a 74-44 win over Anamosa in a River Valley Conference cross-divisional matinee in West Branch.
Taya Young had 21 points and five rebounds as West Branch improved to 6-1 on the season and in RVC play while Anamosa dropped to 0-5.
Koenig backed up a 31-point effort in a road win at No. 13 Bellevue on Friday by scoring 30 points on Saturday to go with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Rylan Druecker had seven points, seven rebounds and three assists for West Branch while Abby Westcott had six points and Lexie Peak had six rebounds.
