Girls Basketball Rankings: West High Climbs One Spot in Class 5A

A day before playing its first game of the season West High has climbed a spot in the rankings.
West High moved up from fifth to fourth on Thursday in the latest Class 5A girls basketball rankings released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
City High remained eighth in the 5A rankings and will travel to West High on Friday for the season opener for both teams.
Clear Creek Amana (4-1) remained 14th in the Class 4A rankings while West Branch (4-1) dropped from first to fifth in the Class 2A rankings.
Top-ranked teams this week are Southeast Polk (5A), Glenwood (4A), Cherokee (3A), Maquoketa Valley (2A) and Bishop Garrigan (1A).
