State qualifiers from last season West High and Clear Creek Amana both received votes in the first Associated Press boys basketball poll of the season released on Monday.

Coming off a third-place finish at the Class 3A state tournament last season, Clear Creek Amana (0-1) was among 14 teams receiving votes outside of the top 10 in the 3A poll.

West High, a state quarterfinalist in Class 4A last season, was third among the teams outside the top 10 receiving votes in the 4A poll.

West Branch (2-0) received votes in the Class 2A poll.

Top-ranked teams in the first poll of the season are Waukee (4A), Dallas Center-Grimes (3A), Boyden-Hull (2A) and North Linn (1A).
