Cross Country Roundup: Boulter Earns Third Consecutive State Tournament Trip

For the third straight season Rowan Boulter is headed to the state cross country meet.
The City High junior secured her spot at the Class 4A state meet in Fort Dodge next week with a 10th place finish at the 4A state qualifying meet at the Dubuque Soccer Complex on Wednesday in Dubuque.
Boulter placed 10th in a time of 19:14.1 to earn her third trip to state after placing 36th and 21st at the state meet the past two seasons.
Joining Boulter at state will be City High senior Lilly Reynolds who finished 15th to earn the final individual qualifying spot.
Reynolds finished in a time of 19:37.8.
Second-ranked Linn-Mar won the team title with 58 points, holding off runner-up Dubuque Senior which finished with 68.
Dubuque Hempstead earned the final spot at the state meet with a third-place finish led by freshman Keelee Leitzen who won the individual title in 17:56.1.
Western Dubuque was fourth with 88 points while City High was fifth with 105 and West High was sixth with 174.
West High senior Maddy Negley placed 16th in a time of 19:38.8.
