West Branch’s Peak, Regina’s Gahan Named to RVC Elite Team

Another season, another sport and another appearance on the River Valley Conference Elite Team for Regina four-sport standout Annie Gahan.
After earning RVC elite team honoree for her work on the softball diamond last summer Gahan was named to the RVC volleyball elite team for the first time in her career on Monday when the conference announced its postseason awards.
Gahan led Regina (12-9) in kills and ace blocks this season on her way to being named to the 12-member elite team that honors the top players from both the North and South Divisions.
The 5-foot-8 Gahan leads Regina with 165 kills and 36 ace blocks and also ranks second on the team with 137 digs and 34 ace serves.
Joining Gahan on the Elite team is West Branch senior Lexie Peak.
An honorable mention all-RVC selection last season Peak had the best season of her career this fall leading the Bears with 273 digs and ranking third on the team with 33 ace serves.
Peak ranked third in the RVC South Division with 3.8 digs per set and helped West Branch to an 18-12 record and a No. 14 ranking in Class 2A.
West Branch put three players on the RVC South Division team as senior Nicki Henson, junior Lexi Klinkkammer and sophomore Iva Senio were all RVC South Division selections.
Senio led the Bears with 195 kills and ranked second on the team with 172 digs while Henson had a team-high 532 assists and ranked third in the South Division with 7.5 assists per set.
Klinkkammer ranked second on the team with 153 kills and had 114 digs, 15 blocks and 33 ace serves.
Regina juniors Alli Dillon and Lily Simpson were both named to the South Division squad.
Dillon led the Regals with 220 assists and added 54 kills, 75 digs and 37 ace serves.
Simpson was second on the team with 114 kills and 24 blocks and also had 92 digs for the Regals.
West Branch senior Jaclyn Bloem and Regina junior Hope Simpson were both honorable mention selections.
