Liberty High climbed one spot to fifth in the final Class 5A volleyball rankings of the season released on Monday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

The Lightning enter the postseason riding a 12-match winning streak after going 19-1 over a stretch in which they played 20 matches in 22 days.

Liberty High (20-2) trails top-ranked West Des Moines Dowling, Ankeny, Pleasant Valley and West Des Moines Valley in the 5A rankings.

West Branch (18-12) held its spot at No. 14 in the Class 2A rankings and Clear Creek Amana (25-6) moved up two spots in ninth in Class 4A.

Other top-ranked teams this week include Cedar Rapids Xavier (4A), Osage (3A), Western Christian (2A) and Janesville (1A).
