Liberty High shrugged off an opening-set loss to down Linn-Mar 21-25, 25-13, 25-19, 25-15 in a Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division matchup on Thursday in Marion.

Class 5A sixth-ranked Liberty High improved to 10-2 with the win and 4-0 in MVC play while Linn-Mar dropped to 9-10 and 4-3 in MVC matches.

Cassidy Hartman led three Liberty High players with double digit kills with a team-high 18 to go with 19 digs.

Shelby Kimm added 11 kills and four blocks and Kennedy Daugherty had 10 kills for the Lightning.

Addie Schmierer had 18 digs and five ace serves while Sam Harvey added four kills.

Hailey Hested had 23 assists and six digs and Mariah Rollins had 15 assists for the Lightning.
