Cross Country Roundup: Solon Runner-up at Loaded Williamsburg Invite

Postseason cross country races are still more than three weeks away.
The Williamsburg Invitational on Monday afternoon featured all the feelings of the postseason with five top-five ranked teams in a strong field and a razor thin margin in the team race.
Class 3A second-ranked Pella had three runners in the top nine and edged fourth-ranked Solon by a single point for the team title at the Williamsburg Sports Complex.
Pella finished with 50 points, one in front of Solon while 2A top-ranked Danville-New London was third with 70, 2A No.5 Tipton was fourth with 75 and 2A fourth-ranked Williamsburg was fifth with 86 points.
Solon had four runners finish in the top 13 led by a sixth-place finish from junior Gabe Hinman in a time of 16:57.93.
Senior Tyler Bilskie was eighth in a time of 17:04.03 while freshman Brick Kabela and Michael Yeomans placed 11th and 13th respectively.
Tipton senior Caleb Shumaker won the individual title in a time of 16:20.36.
