West High won eight events on its way to winning the team title at the Cougar Swimming and Diving Invitational on Saturday at the Linn-Mar Aquatic Center in Marion.

Aurora Roghair and Scarlet Martin each won a pair of individual events and West High swept the relay titles while rolling up 567 team points.

Host Cedar Rapids Kennedy was second with 452 points followed by Johnston with 397 and Linn-Mar was fourth with 290. City High was eighth with 103.

Martin won the 100 backstroke in 57.22 and added a title in the 100 butterfly in 55.08 while Roghair won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:50.36 and won the 100 freestyle in 52.47.

Both Roghair and Martin were members of the winning 200 freestyle relay team.

Jade Roghair added an individual title in the 500 freestyle in 5:11.42 and was runner-up in the 200 freestyle in 1:56.19.

City High was led by junior Heidi Stalkfleet who won the 50 freestyle in 24.84 and was runner-up to Martin in the 100 butterfly in 57.65.
