Liberty High returned to action with a runner-up finish at the Linn-Mar triangular on Saturday at Lowe Park in Marion.

Jack Kinzer finished runner-up in a time of 16:12 as the Lightning placed second behind Class 4A sixth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie in the team standings.

Prairie finished with 23 points, Liberty High was second with 32 and Linn-Mar was third with 73.

Caleb Schillinger was sixth for Liberty High in 16:57.7 while Christian Montover was seventh in 16:58.9 and Bowen Gryp was eighth in 17:08.7.
