West High climbed one spot in the most recent Associated Press football poll released on Monday following its week two win over cross-town rival City High.

The Trojans improved to 2-0 with a 56-20 win over City High on Friday and jumped one spot to seventh in the Class 4A poll released on Monday.

Seven-time defending 4A champion West Des Moines Dowling (2-0) is atop the 4A poll and is one of seven CIML teams in the top 10.

Regina (1-1) remained third in the Class A rankings following a road win at 2A eighth-ranked Clear Lake.

West Branch (1-1) dropped five spots in the 1A poll following a week two loss to 2A No. 5 West Liberty.

Solon is among the teams receiving votes in the 2A rankings.

Other top-ranked teams in this week’s poll include Dallas Center-Grimes (3A), PCM (2A), OABCIG (1A), Grundy Center (A) and Don Bosco (8-player)
