Volleyball Roundup: City High Falls to Dubuque Hempstead in Five-set Thriller

What was originally set as the home tournament date for City High turned into a single match with Mississippi Valley Conference rival Dubuque Hempstead on Saturday.
The one match proved to be plenty entertaining with Hempstead rally to edge City High in a five-set thriller 16-25, 31-29, 24-26, 25-17, 15-12 in Iowa City.
City High dropped to 1-4 with the loss while Hempstead improved to 6-0.
Sara Cassady led City High with 10 kills and five blocks while Claire Ernst had eight kills and 19 digs.
Alia Vanderhoef had eight kills, Maya Morales had 18 digs and Makayla Ribble had 39 assists, 13 digs and five kills for the Little Hawks.
Corinne Meier had 30 kills to pace Hempstead while Becca Lockwood had 12 kills and Ashley Glennon added 10.
