West High placed sixth at the Spartan Invitational on Saturday finishing behind four ranked teams in a strong field that competed at Crow Creek Park in Bettendorf.

Class 4A second-ranked Johnston won the team title with 33 points while seventh-ranked Dubuque Senior was second with 57 followed by No. 11 Bettendorf and No. 5 Cedar Rapids Prairie.

Pleasant Valley was fifth with 112 points while West High finished sixth with 117 points.

Sophoore Vicki Carrica placed 18^th in a time of 21:29 to lead West High while senior Maddy Negley was right behind her placing 19^th in 21:30.

Sophomore Annie Schwartz was 23^rd in a time of 21:57 and Mattie Harms finished 28^th in 22:14.

Hannah Beintema of Bettendorf won the individual title in 19:35 while Bella Heikes of Johnson was second in 19:38.
