Area Cross Country Teams Well Represented in Week 1 IATC Rankings

City High, Liberty High and Solon all had both their boys and girls cross country teams ranked in the top-15 in the week 1 team rankings released on Tuesday by the Iowa Association of Track coaches.
The Liberty High boys were ninth in the Class 4A rankings while the Lightning girls were No. 15 in Class 4A.
City High was 13th in the 4A boys rankings and the City High girls were sixth in the 4A rankings while Solon was sixth in the 3A girls rankings and seventh in the 3A boys rankings.
The West High boys were the highest ranked area team in the 4A rankings coming in at eighth while Clear Creek Amana was eighth in the 3A boys rankings.
Regina was atop the Class 1A girls rankings for the second week in a row after holding the top spot in 1A in the preseason rankings released last month.
15 Your Prep Sports area runners appeared in the individual rankings released on Monday.
In the Class 4A boys rankings City High sophomore Ford Washburn was sixth, West High junior Alex McKane was eighth and Liberty High seniors Jack Kinzer and Caleb Schillinger were 21st and 29th respectively.
Liberty High junior Ashlynn Keeney was first in the 4A girls rankings while teammate McKenzie Logan was ninth and City High junior Rowan Boulter was 20th.
In the Class 3A boys rankings Clear Creek Amana senior Brandon Barker was 10th, sophomore junior Gabe Hinman was 18th and Clear Creek Amana junior Gavin Zillyette was 26th.
Solon senior Kiersten Conway was 16th in the 3A girls rankings while Clear Creek Amana sophomore Haidyn Barker was 20th.
Regina had a trio of ranked runners led by senior Annalee Bartels who was 11th and sophomore Mya Whitaker who was 28th in the 1A girls rankings.
Sophomore Joe Maley was 15th in the 1A boys rankings.
