After posting its best state meet finish in more than a decade last November the West High girls swim team appears to have picked up right where it left off.

West High won all 12 events on Tuesday in an impressive 151-35 dual victory over Dubuque Hempstead in its season opener at the Dubuque Aquatic Center.

The Women of Troy finished first and second in all three relays and had the top three finishers in six of nine individual events.

Seven different West High athletes won individual races on Tuesday led by senior Aurora Roghair and junior Ella Hochstetler who each won two.

Roghair broke her own school record in the 100 freestyle, winning in a time of 51.21 and added a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle in 1:49.65.

Hochstetler won the 50 freestyle and added a win in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.04.

Olivia Taeger won the 200 IM, Lauren Trent won the 500 freestyle and Samantha Klein won the diving competition for West High.

Scarlet Martin added a first-place finish in the 100 backstroke and Nola Femino won the 100 breaststroke in 1:17.88.
