Baseball Roundup: Late Run Lifts Clear Creek Amana Past Grinnell

Clear Creek Amana scored a run on a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to escape with a 6-5 win over Grinnell (10-10) on Monday in a non-conference matchup in Tiffin.
Sam Young drew a two-out walk to scored Grant Jensen who had doubled with the winning run as Clear Creek Amana (13-4) stretched its winning streak to four.
The Clippers led 5-1 heading to the seventh inning but Grinnell got a two-run home run from Colin Gibson to pull within a run and tied the game at 5-all on an two-out RBI single by Cole Johnson.
Clear Creek Amana answered quickly in the bottom of the inning.
Jensen double with one out and Ben Swails, Tyler Schrepfer and Young followed by drawing walks to force in Jensen with the game-winning run.
Jensen went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored and Schrepfer was 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Swails had a hit, drove in a run and scored twice and Parker Smith had a hit and scored twice.
Brock Reade allowed two runs on five hits while striking out seven in six inning and Stirlen Roberson earned the win in relief.
