Softball Roundup: Clear Creek Amana Edges West High in Regular Season Finale

Clear Creek Amana will enter the postseason with some momentum, senior pitcher Raina Henze made sure of that on Monday.
Henze tossed a complete game four-hitter as Clear Creek Amana stretched its winning streak to four with a 2-1 win over West High in its regular season finale in Oxford.
Clear Creek Amana improved to 14-8 on the season with the win and will open postseason play on Saturday against the winner of the Class 4A opening round contest between Grinnell and Washington.
The loss was the fifth straight for West High (7-14) which will host Waterloo West on Thursday in a Class 5A regional quarterfinal.
Henze was stellar on Monday allowing just one run on four hits and one walk.
Clear Creek Amana gave its senior pitcher all the offense she would need in the second.
Grace Bedford led off the inning with a double and after a sacrifice bunt scored on an RBI single by Reese Stockman.
Stockman late scored on Avery Allan single to give the Clippers a 2-0 lead.
West High got a run back in the third when Lexi Nash, Grace Schneider and Eva Burbidge each singled to load the bases and Liv Williams drew a walk to force in a run.
That would be all the offense for either team.
West High finished with four hits as Kiahna Hill added a single.
Clear Creek Amana had eight hits led by Cheyanne Bunch who went 3-for-3.
Stockman and Alan each had hits and drove in runs while Ainsley Schrock and Katelyn LeFleur added singles.
Burbidge took the loss for West High allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out one and walking one. yml
