As Liberty High chases its first ever state tournament berth the Lightning will do so as a ranked team.

Liberty High (9-5) will open postseason play later this week ranked No. 10 in Class 4A after climbing back into the final set of Class 3A and 4A rankings released on Monday by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Clear Creek Amana (12-4) and Solon (13-5) each received votes in the Class 3A rankings.

Top-ranked teams in the final rankings include Johnston (4A), Davenport Assumption (3A), Van Meter (2A) and Martensdale-St. Marys.
